Ode to grad life (or the lack thereof) ...
To the tune of Righteous Brothers' Unchained Melody
Woe, my grad life,
Oh my free food,
I've hungered for, your taste,
A long, infinite time ..
And seminars, go by,
People defend, and I,
Am still stuck, this thesis draft,
Stays a draaa..ft..,
I need a break ..
I... I need to take ..
Godspeed, some caffeine toooo.. my veins.
Sleepless nights go, to the draft, to the code,
Sleepy days all.. spent at home..(yeah yeah, yeah yeah)
Research goes on, night and day, and I wait,
For results that'll make, me graduate....
[Repeat Chorus and fade (..to oblivion)]

Good timing too! Just yesterday, I went to a talk by Jorge Cham, author of Ph.D. Comics. The title? "The Power of Procrastination." What he learnt from grad life? How to use PowerPoint to bulletize anything into a 1-hr talk. The proof? His own talk!
Go see him if he drops in to your school! :)
